Chiropractic Therapy

Chiropractic is a health care profession that emphasizes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the nervous system, muscular system (includes fascia and connective tissue), and skeletal system (includes bones and joints). Chiropractic manual therapy is the treatment technique employed by Chiropractors that involves using manual techniques on the muscles, joints, ligaments, peripheral nerves, tendons, and fascia. The growing body of scientific evidence in manual therapy has validated chiropractic manual therapy and these techniques have been found to have multiple positive effects on the function, performance and well being of patients.

Our treatment approach starts with a thorough assessment where the insufficiencies of the joints and muscles are identified, based on which, a treatment plan inclusive of an active and a passive component, is devised. The passive treatment techniques utilized include: hands on Functional Range soft tissue therapy on muscles and connective tissues, in addition to contemporary medical acupuncture. Every patient is also encouraged to actively participate in their recovery by doing a set of appropriate rehabilitative and strengthening exercises that compliment their recovery and performance goal.

The multi-modality approach that we take to chiropractic care, gives us the ability to treat acute and chronic pain, and sports injuries.  As well, our deep understanding of movement gives us the ability to detect and restore movement dysfunctions that could be causing the pain problem and/or impeding performance.

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy involves hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, i.e. the muscles, connective tissue (fascia), tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health and wellness. Massage therapy has become a commonly utilized service in our health system. Massage therapy is a comprehensive intervention involving a range of techniques to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The purpose of massage therapy is to prevent, develop, maintain, rehabilitate and augment physical function and relieve pain.

At our clinic we offer massage therapy for various purposes, from treating a specific neuromuscular complaint, to relieving stress and maintaining a well-balanced state. Our techniques include: Deep tissue/ Sports massage, Pregnancy Massage, Hot stone Massage, General Swedish Massage

Contemporary Medical Acupuncture

Contemporary Medical Acupuncture is a precise peripheral nerve stimulation technique, in which fine solid needles (acupuncture needles) are inserted into anatomically defined neurofunctional sites, and stimulated manually or with electricity for a therapeutic purpose.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is  a branch of manual medicine that combines different interventions such as hands-on soft-tissue techniques, exercises, electro-modalities and even acupuncture to restore and rehabilitate function and prevent injuries.

PERSONAL AND GROUP TRAINING

In my signature Fast & Fit classes, I use my knowledge and experience as a former Canadian university football all-star, chiropractor, and performance coach to design classes that address all your strength and conditioning needs as real-life athletes.  I say real-life because it’s easy to train hard when that’s what you do for a living, but tougher to do properly when you have REAL-LIFE to deal with!  That’s why in these classes I specifically aim to help you with:

1) Proper technique to optimize exercise effectiveness and decrease injury risk

2) An exercise program that addresses all your needs including: core stiffness, mobility, agility, elastic explosiveness, strength, conditioning, and recovery

3) A fun, competitive environment to challenge you

4) Challenging you mentally to help you deal with life through sporting principles

There is a maximum of 4 students in the class, to allow for proper teaching and individual time and tailoring. I would be honored if you made the choice today to continue on your fitness lifestyle or get started on it with me, a professionally educated Doctor and Coach.

Class Times**:
Saturdays 8 am – 9 am

Orthotic Therapy

A custom orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. They reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment.
